For business, that means something simple and uncomfortable: the value of an AI assistant is not defined by dialogue quality but by whether it can operate inside real processes — order handling, customer communication, planning, escalation, and execution.

What practice and numbers show
This shift is already visible in companies that have moved beyond pilots.
In 2024 Klarna reported that its AI assistant handles over 65% of customer inquiries — a volume equivalent to more than 700 support staff. Importantly, the company highlighted not only cost savings but also faster resolution and stable customer satisfaction.
Shopify went further. In 2023–2024 it adopted a rule: before opening a new role, teams must show that AI cannot solve the task more effectively. The result was an increase in revenue per employee, one of the key operational efficiency metrics for public companies.
Salesforce, for its part, positions Einstein Copilot not as a chatbot but as an action layer inside the CRM that lets users run operations without switching systems.

Why most AI assistants don't reach this level
Despite clear market signals, many companies still evaluate AI assistants like ordinary software: focus on interface, tone, percentage of correct answers.

- ability to keep improving processes.
Conversation quality is secondary. Architecture is what matters.

One of the main takeaways from NVIDIA's approach is that AI assistants are gradually becoming infrastructure.
Infrastructure isn't judged by how impressive it is. It's judged by reliability, scalability, and predictability. That's how electricity, the cloud, and data pipelines became critical to business.
